About BAMU University
Formerly named Marathwada University, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) was established in 1958. It is situated in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. Established primarily as an initiative of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, it was named after Bharat Ratna “Babasaheb” Ambedkar himself. With around 400 colleges affiliated to the university, which come under four districts – Jalna, Osmanabad, Beed and Aurangabad, the student population exceeds 100,000. The historical and cultural needs of the whole Marathwada is served by the university itself.
